Hey Everyone!
Well, I don’t usually like to write articles, I’m more of an A/V kind of guy…but that being said, I received an analog communication (a letter) from Verizon this week. Usually I toss promotional materials directly to the recycle pile….but I decided to open it anyway. It said that Verizon was discontinuing the Verizon WiFi service in my area, and then instructed me how to uninstall the software.
What bugs me about this is that I ACTUALLY USE IT! 🙂 It was a great feature to have living here as I travel on the Washington State Ferry system and Verizon WiFi worked! It was sweet being able to do my work! …. but now…alas, it’s going away. But then I started thinking…..Why…Why Verizon are you turning on me?
Then I got the answer…..their potential sell off to Frontier! They want to make the service nice and lean because they have a feeling that Frontier will not be able to afford all these extra perks of the Verizon Fios service! Hell, just the other day I got an e-mail from Verizon telling me that they are ALSO DISCONTINUING THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH YAHOO! No more free Flickr Pro….:(
So I wonder…how many of you who have Verizon Fios will actually care? And how many of you will take advantage of this situation and jump ship?
