I’m going to come right out and say, the Call of Duty series for me personally is not my ideal type of first person shooter. I’ve played enough to know that the unrealistically fast first person shooters are my thing personally. The Call of Duty games are truly excellent games, just not my thing. I buy them, I just buy them really late for cheap.
I could honestly really care less about Modern Warfare 2 in particular ever since the announcement of the lack of dedicated servers and modding for the PC version. If they want to release a console only game, just release it on the consoles. Don’t take out the things that make the PC version worth playing.
But now it turns out that someone NeoGaf found out that the Xbox 360 version disables Party Chat. It pretty much tells you “Do it our way, or don’t play.” Which is kind of a kick in the groin for the 360 version of the game for me, because the times I personally play games online I use that particular feature heavily.
But what baffles me is that I can think of NO REASON at all why they would want to disable that in one of the biggest friggin’ games out there. First the lack of dedicated servers and modding on the PC (which they touted heavily in the first Modern Warfare game) and now this oddball decision on the Xbox 360 version? What can possibly be going through their heads with this damn game. What’s next. Micro transactions? “Why have armor piercing bullets when you can have SUPER armor piercing bullets???” Maybe Modern Warfare 3 will do away with keyboard and mouse controls and just make you play the game with a controller.
And they’re probably going to have the overpriced useless 360 avatar crap for the game if they don’t already. That’s something else I don’t understand. People ACTUALLY SPEND MONEY on CRAP for their avatars that do …. what. Nothing. Nothing wrong with making it an unlockable something for a game, but paying however much for a light saber? Or a remote control car? My avatar is the same as it was when they first launched it because I got drunk and bored one night and spent 5 minutes with it. They’re kinda creepy looking anyway.
Alright. My tangent is done. 🙂 Enjoy your day, and don’t waste your money on this game.
